APPEARANCE.
parker is a big guy. he's six feet tall, 200 pounds. and that's all muscle, baby. you don't wanna mess with this mothafucka. he's always been a rather big guy, and he's used it to his advantage. ever since grade school he's been intimidating his peers with his size. and the girls have always been crazy for him. with his cloudy green eyes and strong jawline, he's a hottie. but he never gave any girl the time of day. he doesn't care much about his hair, either. it's a dirty blond color, and usually in a buzz cut. if it gets any longer than that, he might spread some gel through it with his fingers, but that's it. parker's clothing style is a little rough too. he usually just throws on jeans and a t-shirt. sometimes he gets creative with layers and things, but not much. during the summer, you'll never see him in anything besides a wife-beater, jeans, tennis shoes, and a hat. his overall appearance gives off the impression of toughness, and that's the way he likes it.

PERSONALITY.
aggressive.
the first word that comes to mind in order to describe parker is aggressive. he can get pretty intense sometimes. he's not afraid to back down from anything. if you challenge him, you had better plan on fighting to the death. and he's not just aggressive in the sense that he's intense. parker is...mean. that's the only way to put it. insults and aggressive comments just flow from his mouth without him even having to try. he gets himself into all kinds of trouble because of this habit. but he's not afraid of a physical fight and will take you down without thinking twice.
short-tempered.
it pretty much goes without saying that a guy like parker is short-tempered. anything can set him off at any moment. sometimes getting 'set-off' translates into just a snappy comment from parker, and other times it translates into a punch to the mouth. it's almost impossible to see it coming, too. he'll seem in a perfectly nice mood, and then bam! you're face is bleeding.
angry.
more often than not, parker's face will be set in a scowl. his expression just emanates anger. he doesn't even realize that he's making this face, it just happens. his overall outlook on life is that everything provokes anger. anything and everything just pisses him off to no end.
sarcastic.
if you've been reading up to now, then you can probably guess that parker's version of humor is sarcasm. his sarcastic remarks are extremely dry and he says them like he is completely serious. if you're not as sharp or as smart as he is, then you won't get it. he especially loves using this sarcasm on stupid girls, because they really don't get it. he gets a good laugh out of this. whenever parker laughs, it's always at someone else's expense.
pessimistic.
with parker, the glass is half-empty. he's skeptical about everything he starts or sees. he's always sure that nothing will work out the way it's supposed to.
confident.
parker has no doubt in his own abilities. he knows that if he sets out to do something, it will get done. he's not afraid to go after things. he is especially confident in his physical abilities. he will take anyone on in a fight and beat their ass. he's smart about fighting and almost never loses a fight. he can come off as cocky a lot of the time.
guarded.
parker is careful with his emotions. he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve whatsoever. there's no one in this world that he trusts. this creates a feeling of loneliness in him, but no one would know it. from the outside, parker looks like he doesn't give a damn about anything or anyone. but of course he has feelings. everyone does. parker just tends to keep them bottled up and out of sight. the only emotion he expresses freely is anger. in his mind, this is the only emotion that doesn't make you look weak. parker will do anything to keep from looking weak.
protective.
parker does have a slightly soft side. there are, of course, people in his life that he loves and cares about. and for those people, he'd lay his life down. if you insult or hurt someone parker loves, you'd better watch your back. nothing makes him angrier than seeing a loved one hurt. he'd kill for those people.
loyal.
one thing that parker will never do is turn his back on you. if he has an obligation to you, or if he cares about you, he won't let you down. he's not a coward and will stick with you til the end.
bitter.
after the way parker was raised by his abusive father, he holds a lot of bitter rage in his heart. he hates his father and tries to be nothing like him, but in reality, he's everything like him. he's quick to punch, and slow to speak. the only difference between him and his father, is that parker would never hurt someone he loves. anyone else is fair game.
stubborn.
when parker wants something, he won't give up. he has his opinions, and he's sticking to them. no one can talk him out of anything after he's set his mind to it. you may as well just get out of the way.
so after reading all of this, you might think "well why would anyone ever like this dude?" and that's a good question. most of the time, parker is a dick. but people seem to feel that he has something more on the inside of him. people, especially girls, want to break through to him and find his soft side. and being parker's friend gives a feeling of security. there are people he gets along with, but they're usually the exact opposite of him: quiet, nice, and not very confrontational. and he gets along with most guys, but if they make one wrong move, he'll beat the shit out of them and never look back at them.
LIKES. the gym, cars, living on his own, working with his hands, boxing, football, tough guy stuff, his mom and sister, guy's nights, bars, clubs, making people feel stupid, winning, fighting
DISLIKES. his father, giggly girls, fluffy stuff, weakness, feeling stupid, losing, mushiness
FEARS. shutting everyone out, not being able to open up to anyone, failing, staying lonely (though he'd never admit to any of this)

HISTORY.
james and skylar were young and in love. skylar's parents didn't like the fact that she was 18 and james was 23, but there wasn't much they could do about it. besides, james seemed sweet enough. he treated skylar right and promised her the world. he was in college to become a big-time contractor, and he'd marry her as soon as she graduated high school. it was any little girl's dream come true. but that dream came crashing down in the form of a pregnancy. a month before she graduated, skylar found out that she was pregnant. james was disappointed, but promised to stay with skylar and marry her. and he did. the two were married two weeks after skylar's graduation. seven months later, parker james lyman was born. skylar and james were thrilled with their son and happy little family. but the bliss didn't last for long. by the time parker was three months old, the bills were piling up and james no longer had time to go to college while working. he was forced to drop out and take up a full-time job working on construction sites. but he tried to stay optimistic. he tried to be strong and support his young family. but at just 24 years old, he couldn't keep it up. he'd had such big dreams and ambitions, that being let down like this was just too much for him.
the alcoholism started out small. james went to bars after work just for a few drinks until parker was two years old. it wasn't a big deal, and skylar didn't mind at all. but things started getting a little bit bumpy in their marriage. one night after james got home, skylar was tired and a little grumpy. the two ended up in a shouting match. after an hour of fighting, james stormed out of the house and back to the bar. that night he got wasted out of his mind and came home at three in the morning. apologizing to skylar and begging for forgiveness. she, of course, forgave him. but she thought this would only be a one-time thing. similar fights like this started breaking out more and more often over the next two years.
skylar and james' relationship was like a roller coaster. up and down constantly. they were in love one day, hating each other the next. when parker was four years old, skylar became pregnant again. another member was added to the lyman family, in the form of jada marie lyman. james managed to stay away from alcohol for awhile after jada was born, inspired by his new daughter to be a clean family man. but the temptation was too great, and when jada was six months old, james came home at three piss drunk. he hadn't even called to let skylar know he wouldn't be coming home after work. needless to say, she was furious. james and skylar got into a vicious fight. after and hour or so, james couldn't take it and hit skylar across the face. by this time, four-year-old parker had crawled out of bed to spy on his parents. he witnessed his father hitting his mother. in his little child's mind, parker knew this was wrong. it made him a little angry. skylar was crying and james seemed a little shocked that he had actually done that. skylar immediately packed the two kids into her car and drove to her parent's house. she stayed there for a week, before she gave in to james' begging for her to come home. he promised that he'd never do it again. he was drunk that night, he'd never let it happen again. he loved her, he promised. and he didn't hit her again. for three months, at least.
over the years, james eventually became an alcoholic. by the time parker was 10 and jada was 6, he came home drunk every night, and beat skylar weekly. when this happened, the kids would usually hide in parker's room, jada crying in parker's arms. he was always strong for her and never cired. he promised her that it would be ok. that this was the last time. parker hated that his mother had to be beaten by his father like this. but at least james never touched the kids. until parker was 13, that is. by that age, parker had grown to be a big kid. he was tall and muscular for 13, and was sick of seeing his mom bruised and bleeding. so one night he stood up for her. he marched right up to his dad just when he was raising his fist, and gave him the hardest punch he could muster right to james' stomach. for a moment, james was frozen. he was shocked that his son had intervened. but once he was over the shock, anger set in. that night, parker was beat to a bloody pulp. his body was covered in bruises and cuts. he couldn't walk for days. from that time on, parker hated his father.
by the time parker was 15 and jada was 11, the family had turned into a three against one battle. jada had been dragged into the beatings at one point, now also receiving bruises as punishment. parker felt it was his responsibility to protect his mom and sister. he intervened every time to try to stop his father. but his father always won. he was bigger than all of them and always managed to hurt them. parker and skylar had become very close. skylar felt that parker was the only person she could talk to. they both hated and feared james. parker begged his mom to leave his dad, but she was reluctant. she knew james would find her and drag her back. she was scared, so she stayed. parker could have run away, but he wouldn't leave his mom and jada. they needed him. he was the only one who stopped his father from killing them.
but when parker was 17, the perfect opportunity fell into their hands. parker had been working out and playing football since middle school. he was now a junior in high school and a huge boy. all of those years of training his body had resulted in a 5'11, 185 pound, 17 year old kid. he'd even begun competitive boxing through his school, learning to fight. he knew he'd really need it someday. he was right, because james had just gotten more and more drunk recently. he'd lost his job and had nothing to do but drink and get angry. one night he came home with a knife. he wasn't even that drunk. he had the intent to kill his family. parker wasn't about to let that happen. he was sitting awake in his room, waiting for his father to come home just like every night. when he heard the door open, he braced himself. this was how it always happened. his father would go to the bedroom to find skylar, they'd end up in the living room to argue, and parker would come to the rescue. but this night was different. the first thing he heard was his mother's voice asking, "james, what is that?" her voice was dripping with fear. and parker knew immediately that this was the last night james would do this to his family. this was the last night parker, skylar, and jada would have to spend in his house, waiting in fear. either james would kill them, or they would kill james. parker jumped out of bed and ran to his parent's room. james was standing a few feet from the bed, a huge knife in his hand, pointed toward skylar. he was just standing there, breathing heavily as if contemplating what to do. he saw parker and flew at him. the fight lasted for about five minutes. james was trying to plunge the knife into parker's chest, but now parker was strong enough to hold him off. james finally got parker underneath him on the floor, and managed to slice a long gash in parker's side. that pain only pushed parker farther into anger and hatred. he gained strength from remembering all the times james had hurt his mom and jada. parker hadn't been fighting all of these years to be killed like this. he screamed and broke his father's wrist by bending it all the way back. he took the knife from his useless hand and stabbed it into james' stomach. his father fell back in pain and shock and went unconscious. at first, parker thought he'd killed james. but he did the honest thing and called the cops. they took james away on a stretcher and he survived the knife wound.
after six months of being in court, james was finally convicted of attempted murder. parker was innocent, as he was only acting in self-defense. his father was sentenced to thirty years in prison. skylar divorced him, and the family was now free to start over again. parker dropped out of high school, against his mom's wishes, to get a full-time job so his mom could work part-time and go to nursing school. the little family of three took skylar's maiden name and moved to los angeles, california. parker got a job as a mechanic and skylar got her nursing degree. jada went to high school and things seemed normal for the first time. but parker knew he'd never be normal. he would always carry the scars, physical and emotional, of growing up with an abusive father. over the years, he built up hate and anger inside of him that he just couldn't shake off. he'd sacrificed so much in his life because of his father. he'd never had that many friends, because kids were afraid of him. he'd never had a girlfriend. girls had always had crushes on him, but he was far too busy with sports and protecting his family to care about girls. he found it was just easier to block everyone out. he'd always been in loads of trouble during his school years, constantly suspended for fighting. he was always labeled as a 'troubled youth'. but it seemed to parker that his middle and high school years were just a blur of fights and anger. he had never been happy.
just a few months before parker turned 21, he knew that it was time for him to move out. he'd saved up quite a bit of money from his full-time mechanic job over the past three years, and could afford to rent a nice house in a suburb of los angeles. his mother was well-established as a nurse and was making good money. his sister was 17 and doing well in high school. parker knew they could survive without him. he'd been the man of the family since he was 13, and, honestly, he needed some time to himself. and when he was offered a job at a garage in suburbia, he couldn't resist. he knew this was a change he needed. so he packed up his things, and moved to suburbia. he now works at the local garage, where he makes even more money than before, and rents a small house in a family neighborhood. he just wants to spend some time alone, and learn to outgrow his pent-up anger.
